Most hotels welcome kids, but it’s how they are treated when they are there that really counts. We’ve highlighted hotels that go the extra mile to ensure families have a great stay with their little touches. Hotel rooms in New York are not known for their larger sizes, so it’s always recommended to book early to request family or interconnecting rooms.
4* Thompson Central Park New York (formerly Parker New York)
A great choice for families who are looking for a stylish hotel with a great location; close to 5th Avenue and Carnegie Hall on the South side of Central Park with the zoo a short walk to keep the kids entertained.
The hotel welcomes children and for the younger guests, kids’ menus are available along with a babysitting service. Step stools are available for the younger guests to reach the sinks.

3* The Gardens Sonesta ES Suites New York (Formerly Gardens Suites by Affinia)
Located on Upper East Side, this hotel is a great choice for families who may wish to eat in as well as dine out in New York’s family-friendly eateries. Close to Central Park, so great to let the kids have a run around if they have the energy before a day’s sightseeing in New York.
The all-suite hotel lends itself to a family to stay together in one room, with each suite featuring a kitchenette, refrigerator, and oven so if guests decide to eat in, you can cater for the fussiest of eaters. Free cots and infant beds are available as are extra pull-outs at a charge. Other facilities include a snack bar/deli, parking (subject to charges), health club and an outdoor terrace.
4* JW Marriott Essex House New York
Located in midtown, minutes from Columbus Circle and just across the street from Central Park and Central Park Zoo, this art-deco inspired building is a great choice for families.
With a number of family suites and interconnecting rooms, the hotel can be an ideal base to explore New York. The hotel will be happy to assist with planning a family picnic in Central Park. Other facilities include a spa, fitness centre, and bar and restaurant.
5* Loews Regency New York Hotel
A fabulous luxury hotel based on the Upper East Side on Park Avenue, combining Art Deco roots with modern touches. With some of the major shops of New York on your doorstep, and close to a subway, it makes provides a good base for exploring the city.
A great choice for those with little ones, the Loews will provide free cots, and baby bath amenity kits. They also have a selection of board games and toys, crayons, and colouring books as well as PlayStations to hire to keep all ages amused.

The hotel has a good Midtown location, on 50th between Lexington and Third Avenue so it provides a great base for family-friendly attractions in New York.
The hotel has some good-sized rooms for families with facilities to suit including one or two-bedroom suites, with all rooms featuring refrigerators and microwaves to suit larger families. The hotel has two restaurants, both suitable for smaller guests.
Plus, for the grown-ups there is a rooftop bar with a retractable roof; plus, breakfast and lunch are also served here.
